DEFENDING champions Australia kept their world crown when they edged out New Zealand 58-57 in a nail-biting final of the Mission Foods World Netball Championship at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The game went into extra-time with both sides neck and neck. Australia's Caitlin Bassett sank the winning goal for her side with just seconds left on the clock.
England finished third after downing world No.4 Jamaica 70-49.Singapore finished 15th in the 16-nation tournament, beating Malaysia 47-36 on Saturday.
The quadrennial event will next be hosted by Sydney, Australia in 2015.
