I love this country. I hate what's happened to this country. We're a laughingstock throughout the world.
So stated Donald Trump to Piers Morgan this week, hinting for the second time that he really might run for President of the United States. Because the world will be forced to take us seriously with hair such as that in the White House!
The Donald's platform, based on his interview below? Down with China! He says of the nation: "I see them as the enemy. They want to take over this country economically. They are not really out-competing. They are cheating. And we have people who don't know what to do, because we have the wrong people in office."
Donald Trump got a mixed reception at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday - one day after he spoke of a possible presidential run on national TV.
There were boos before, during and after his speech at the conference in Washington, but there were also plenty in the packed crowd that enjoyed his typically flamboyant performance.
The loudest boos came when he slammed veteran Republican and potential candidate from Texas Ron Paul.
I'm the one: Donald Trump talks about himself and other potential presidential candidates at the Conservative Political Action conference (CPAC) in Washington on Thursday
'By the way, Ron Paul can't get elected, I'm sorry,' Mr Trump said. 'I like Ron Paul, I think he is a good guy but he just has zero chance of getting elected and I can tell you this, if I run and if I win this country will be respected again.'
The venue was packed for Mr Trump's speech. It came a day after he showed some fighting form on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight show. After dropping strong hints about running for president he launched an astonishing attack on China.
He described the Chinese as 'cheaters' and said the American diplomats and politicans who have to deal with China's leaders are simply not up to the job.
When Mr Morgan, Trump's former Celebrity Apprentice, asked if he's seriously thinking about a presidential bid, the property tycoon responded by saying he will decide by June.
Asked what his top priority would be if elected, Trump said it would be a 25 per cent tax on all Chinese products, so American companies can compete.
'The country [America] is doing very poorly. It just can't do much worse,' Mr Trump said. 'We're not respected anywhere in the world. I am seriously thinking about it.
'I won't make a decision until June. But I will make a decision and it may surprise people frankly, but I will make a decision sometime prior to June.
Tough talkin': Donald Trump rips into China's economic strategy after briefly talking about running for president on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight show
'I love this country. I hate what's happened to this country. We're a laughing stock throughout the world. We're not respected.
'You look at what China is doing to us. How they're just ripping us left and right. They're taking our jobs. We're rebuilding China.'
Mr Trump added: 'I'd announce very strongly that we're going to tax Chinese products, 25 percent tax on all Chinese products. They will come to the table immediately. They will stop manipulating their currency which they're doing.
'It's very hard for our companies to compete with China because of the manipulation of their currency.
'I buy a lot of products. I'm building buildings all over the place, I buy glass and steel and lots of other things. It's very hard for our countries to compete with China. We make better products than them.
'By the way that's the most important thing, we make better products.'
'I see them as the enemy. They know, they know they're the enemy. They are the enemy. They say they're the enemy.
Send in the clan: Donald Trump spoke of the importance of loyalty and respect when he appeared with family members on Oprah on Monday
'They want to take over this country economically.
At that point Mr Morgan attempted to soften the rhetoric, but Mr Trump was unrepentant and continued his China tirade.
'They are not really out-competing. They're cheating. When you cheat, and we have people that don't know what to do because we have the wrong people in office, that's not out-competing.
'They consider our leaders extremely stupid people. They cannot believe what they get away with. Whether it's the Olympics where they put people under age and they say, no, no, no, and then we find out it was true and they say, oh, we just didn't know.
'So many different things. I mean the Chinese are looking to put us under and believe me they are not our friends.'Or whether they have the beautiful girl singing the national anthem, their national anthem, but it wasn't her singing.
'Now I hate to use strong words. But that's what it is. And if you read the real economists and real people that know what's going on it's an unfair playing field.'
It was Mr Trump's second talk show appearance in a week.
On Monday, the 64-year-old three-time married mogul appeared on Oprah along with several other members of his family. His two ex-wives were not present.
'I've been a great, great father but less of a good husband,' he joked, before singing the praises of his children.
'I've had very wonderful children. They've done very well in school. They're very smart, good kids,' he said. Also read:
