Woods and wife 'to divorce'

NEW YORK - TIGER Woods' marriage to Elin Nordegren is over, with reports in the United States claiming that golf's top player and his estranged wife are putting the finishing touches to their divorce.

Just days after he returned to the sport, finishing fourth at the Masters, Entertainment Tonight reported that Nordegren's no-show at the tournament was a clear indication that she had not come to terms with his prolific philandering.

While at home in Florida, she did not watch a broadcast of the tournament.

On the final day of the Masters, she flew off without her two children - they were left with nannies - for a destination unknown, friends say. Woods had originally wanted to go on a little vacation with his family.

Correspondent Kevin Frazier, who has links to Woods, said: 'It was believed that by going into sex rehab, Tiger had done just enough to keep his family together. But sources have told me that the marriage is indeed over.

'The couple hasn't spoken for quite some time. It is believed that all they have to do is work out a few more details on their divorce and both can move on with their lives.'
